Privacy
Here is what malliskitchen.com keeps when you visit or order, and why. It covers this website only. Ordering at the counter or by phone works the way it always has.
When you order online
We ask for your first name, your phone number, what you'd like and when you'll pick it up. We use them to make your order and to call or text you about it if we need to.
Payments and orders go through Square, the company we use to take payments. You type your card into Square's own payment box, or pay with Apple Pay or Google Pay, so your card number goes to Square and never reaches us. Your name and phone go to Square with the order. If you choose to be remembered, Square also keeps a customer profile with them, which is how your past orders show up next time. What Square does with that information is covered by Square's privacy policy.
What stays on your device
If you choose to be remembered, we confirm your number once with a code sent by text. After that, two small cookies on your device keep you signed in so you can reorder your usual quickly. They last 180 days from the last time you order or open your orders.
Your bag is kept in your browser until you order or empty it. If you order without being remembered, your name and phone are kept in that browser too, so you don't have to type them again. After an order, its number stays in that browser tab until you close it, so you can check on your order. None of this leaves your device until you place an order.
When you just look around
We count visits and taps so we know which pages and dishes people look at. For each one we record:
- the page and the button that was tapped
- the kind of device: phone, tablet or computer
- the town your internet connection points to
- the site that sent you, for example Instagram or Google
We don't keep your IP address or your name with these counts, and the counts are deleted after 60 days. The owners see them only as totals. We also use an analytics service and our website host's visitor and page-speed tools, which may set their own cookies.
If you join our list or turn on notices
If you type your email into the “Hear about the specials first” box, we keep that email, the day you joined and the page you joined from. We use it only to tell you about specials, new dishes and when online ordering opens.
If you turn on notices, your browser gives us an address that only its notice service can use. We keep it to send you the same kind of news, and it holds nothing that names you. To stop them, turn notices off for our site in your browser or phone settings.
Who else handles it
- Square: payments, orders and customer profiles.
- Our website host: runs the site and measures visits and page speed.
- A database service: stores the visit and tap counts, our email list and the notice addresses.
- Your browser's notice service: delivers the notices you turned on.
- A text-message sign-in service: sends the one-time code when you ask to be remembered.
- An analytics service: reports how people find and use the site.
- Maps and social sites: when you tap Directions, Instagram or Facebook, you leave our site and that company's own policy applies.
What we don't do
We don't sell your information and we don't share our email list. We only send emails or notices to people who chose to join, and this website never sends marketing texts.
Your choices
Want to know what we hold about you, or want it removed? Call us at (817) 897-7026 or ask at the counter. We'll tell you what we have and remove what we can, including taking you off our email list. Square may need to keep payment records for a time, and its policy explains how to ask Square directly.
To sign out, tap Sign out on your orders page, or clear our cookies in your browser settings.
